Hello. My name is Alan Buky, I’m 39 years old and I have been a recovery coach/companion since 2018. I am CCAR Certified. My coaching approach is very simple. Authenticity, Action, Accountability, Awareness, Boundaries, Respect, Goals, and above all Becoming Your Own Best Friend. I pride myself in meeting people where they are at currently.

A brief story of my recovery…

Alcohol, cannabis, opiates. My holy trinity. I first got sober in 2009 through jail and 12 step recovery. I took to it and leaned in but looking back, i just scratched the surface. 5 years clean until my Dad passed and I went down the rabbit hole hard for a few years. Self loathing, self pity, justification, denial, anger, and suffering from a repeatedly broken heart. I came to a fork in the road (something HAS to change) and to be honest, my direction was heavily influenced by a couple good friends of mine, one of which essentially tricked me into going to a meeting. That was January of 2017 and i have been full steam ahead since. Here’s the thing, then and now, and also moving forward, I have made it my mission to build myself and my family a life that is worth living. Which meant i made it a mission to learn from people that were already doing that. I had to become the type of person that was capable of that. A ton of mindsets, habits, and beliefs had to change for me. And furthermore, ACTION, ACTION, and more ACTION. None of it was alone, that wouldn’t have been possible for me.
